This year at DETROP OENOS in Thessaloniki, there will be a double participation for our winery.

Our TSANTALI stand (#5) at Pavillion 15 will be providing the full range of our wines (TSANTALI and SANTO WINES) and distillates.

At the same time, a TSANTALI sneak peak will be available at the stand of “Wines of Northern Greece” (stand #57 at Pavillion 8).

EASY TIPS FOR ‘SURVIVING’ THE BIG WINE FAIRS
1. Make a plan of action
It is almost impossible to taste all the wines offered at a wine exhibition. Planning in advance is a smart move: visit the official website beforehand or spend some time browsing the brochure offered at the entrance. A wise solution is to taste up to two wines per producer. For newbies, tasting a total of 25-30 wines is a good start.
2. Do not go on an empty stomach
Eat just before the wine exhibition. And do not forget to snack throughout your time at the event (eg small breaks after having tasted white wines or the first ten producers).
3. Always spit
The goal is to taste, not to drink. We do not forget (nor feel awkward) to use the spitoons. Spitting will help us enjoy the wine tasting experience.
4. Water, water… more water
Carrying our own water is important. Drinking water after every wine we taste is the best way to both appreciate the wine and stay hydrated.
5. Avoid driving
Taxi, bus, metro or a designated driver are the best ways to get home safe. Organize this in advance.
A few “Winelover’s Good manners” extras:
It is wise to avoid wearing colognes, perfumes and (for the ladies) lipsticks.
We wait in line at each stand, we take interest in the wines being poured but we are also considerate of others waiting their turn.
