The luxurious and imposing Grande Bretagne Hotel in the centre of Athens hosted for the 5th year the fair „Fine Red Wines“ on Sunday 18 November 2018.
Considering the concept, the venue and time -shortly before Christmas period kick off- of the event are ideal highlighting an indisputable fact: „Fine Red Wines“ is perfectly tuned in every little detail by its organisers (Vinetum and FnL). No wonder it had raised the bar for the Greek Wine Fair scene since the very beginning five years ago.
For our Tsantali team, being a part of „Fine Red Wines“ since the very first event is a celebration. A celebration of our history, legacy, vision, evolution and, of course, the quality and the hard work reflected on each of our wines. That is why each time we make sure to carefully select the wines and vintages to be presented at the fair aimed at giving a stirring taste of that unique mosaic.
Our signature vineyards in Mount Athos and Rapsani are usually the inspiring pool for our fine red wines. This year, it was a journey back in 1998 with a quite rare RAPSANI RESERVE vintage. A bottle of wine made when most of the great co-participant wineries were not even founded — a bottle of wine that made us proud as a vibrant reminder of our contribution to the development of the Greek wine industry that today bursts with talent, vision and delicious wines.
Together with 1998, Rapsani was represented with the new vintage (2013) of RAPSANI GRANDE RESERVE; a label that generously grants our winery with remarkable distinctions demonstrating a severe consistency of quality and character.
From the unique Mount Athos, the wine enthusiasts had the opportunity to taste four consecutive vintages –2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013– through the labels of AGIORITIKO ABATON and KORMILITSA GOLD. The profound mark of this outstanding terroir was superbly projected by the iconic METOHI 2004, a label that clearly stated what „fine red wine“ stands for at Tsantali.
Indeed, our goal was -as always- to embrace this celebration and share great wines with the visitors of this fair. The strategy behind the way we marked our wines was not rocket science: it all derived from the strong belief that the coupons wisely asked by the organisers for tasting should not be a means of power game but an enabler of wine appreciation. And this decision worked in our favour for yet another year.
Our winery“ s successful presence at this year’s „Fine Red Wines“ must be attributed to our team. Dimitris Grizas DipWSET and Ilias Stafylopatis that supported our stand with eagerness and top-notch skills, as well as our Enology, Marketing and Event departments for planning with enthusiasm every single detail of our participation.
